Metaphysics as Cosmetic A Procedural Reconstruction

the universal emergence architecture the druid Finn specified—Procedure
Monism (PM)—reality is a closed generative system: ·

Realness
is instantiated in serial collision events (the druid’s c² “is-ness”
moments). Identity is not intrinsic but procedurally sustained coherence.
There is no ontological “outside.” From this
it follows: There is
no metaphysical layer beyond physics. Any
discourse claiming such a layer must therefore be reinterpreted
functionally, not ontologically. 2. The cognitive constraint: why the ground vanishes Cognition,
as established in the druid’s thought experiment, operates by: detecting
variation (differences, transitions, impacts). The
generative ground—the rule (or constraints)-set or Universal Procedure—is: ·

non-fluctuating, ·
therefore non-registerable. Hence the
druid’s key minim: “Sameness is compressed
out.” Result: ·
The most fundamental aspect of reality (the
generative constant) is systematically excluded from cognition. ·
Yet its effects are ubiquitous. This

system demands explanation of what it cannot directly represent. 3. The emergence of metaphysics Metaphysics
arises precisely at this fault line. Not as
discovery of a deeper domain, but as: a
compensatory construction that fills the cognitive gap left by the compressed
constant. Historically,
this yields tokens such as: ·
“Being” (Parmenides) ·
“Forms” (Plato) ·
“Substance” (Aristotle) ·
“God or Nature” (Baruch Spinoza) ·
“Dao” (Dao) ·

Payload: reified categories (political/cultural
fantasies) mistaken for reality Thus: Metaphysics is presented as explanation but
actually installs expedient interpretation. Once
internalised, the cosmetic layer becomes: ·

difficult to dislodge. 9. Why the cosmetic is indispensable Under the
druid’s Procedure Monism, metaphysics is not an error to be eliminated. It is a
cosmetic, meaning: an adaptive interface, i.e. a useful artificial
perspective, enabling continued, indeed improved operation under
epistemic limitation. Or,
cosmetics improve survivability. Without
it: ·
action would lack coherence, ·
coordination would degrade, ·
survival probability would decrease. Metaphysics
functions analogously to: ·
a graphical interface over machine code, ·
a map over terrain, ·
a narrative over raw data streams. ·

These placeholders improve usability but distort
ontology Conclusion Metaphysics serves as useful
cosmetic: it does not alter the generative process of reality
but reformats it into a cognitively survivable and socially transmissible
appearance. Or, in
its most compressed form: “Reality
runs as process; metaphysics ( cosmetics) makes it (for instance the gal
more) presentable.” What s metaphysics? The druid said: “Metaphysics
